This page is all about me!

I grew up in Pipestone.

My father was the general manager of Pan O'Gold Bakery. Believe it or not I was one of the models for the Sunbeam bread girl.

We moved to Hopkins where my dad became a manager for Deli Foods and my mother was a dental hygiene teacher at the Minnesota Dental Institute.

We then moved to Overland Park, Kansas. My dad became a manager for the state of Kansas in a deli food corporation. My mother became a real estate agent (She sold houses to Lenny Dawson and Ricky Bell). I graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 1972

We then moved to Fargo, North Dakota, where Dad became general manager of Pan O' Gold again but in Fargo, and Mom was real into real estate there. My brother Rick graduated from Fargo North in 1975.

They split - Mom moved to Arizona (After I graduated college), and Dad moved to Nacogdoches, Texas.

I graduated from North Dakota State University and my first teaching job was in Alexandria. I loved the people and the lakes!! I also coached gymnastics!!  Flew many times to AZ. Moved on to Faribault and taught at the alternative school. The hours were great.

1979 I was hired at Canby High School. I have been here ever since! I have married, had the boys, lost my father, father-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew, and too many close friends.

My husband Allan farms and raises beef. Gotta love those baby calves! He also subs at the post office.

Our son Christian is attending NDSU for a fifth year and is majoring in Electrical Engineering and will graduate in December 2008. He is employed by Phoenix International. He and Jessica are married as of August 9, 2008. Jessica is majoring in architecture and will graduate in the spring of 2009.

Our son Andy is in 12th grade at Canby High School. He is too involved!  He plays piano, electric guitar and acoustic guitar. He is in Choir musical (Oliver), Knowledge Bowl, One Act play, Yearbook, baseball (Loves those Twins!!). He has finished with his Eagle project and will have an Eagle Scout ceremony in the future.

My favorite things to do: read, fish, watch TV, and play Tetris (I am the Tetris queen!!) I really do not live in the school even though it has felt like it this year with all the 12 hour days! I finished  my Master's in Arts of Education from  St. Mary's in May of 2007.

I am very proud of the work Allan and I have done with all the other great committee members for Canby Post Prom. It is one of my most favorite ways of spending a Saturday and Sunday morning the first Saturday in May. As one of the board members said, "No matter how long Post Prom has been going; no one is ever going to be able to measure the lives that have been saved"

To me and to all of the committee that is a great statistic to not have to worry about! Thank you community for all your support.....

We have watched our boys grow up in this wonderful community. We are proud of our school, our church, and our life.
