Bells for the beginning of class and the end of class have been restarted.  There will be no warning bells at break times except for after lunch.

Today is the last day for the coin drive for Puerto Rico.  Cans will be picked up 8th period.  Thanks for all your donations!

YAMS t-shirts are in.  Please stop in the counseling office today to pick yours up. Cost is $12.

The YAMS Bean Bag tournament has been postponed to a later date.

There will be a junior high boys’ basketball meeting after school on Monday in the media center.

The cross country banquet will be held on Sunday at 5:30 in the cafeteria.

Although an estimated 38 percent of the US population is eligible to donate blood at any given time, less than 10 percent of that actually do.  Please be in the top 10 percent!  Sign up with Nolan Harding or Brandon Bursack to donate on November 22nd.

Saturday’s events include: 

            Girls’ basketball scrimmage at Worthington at 9:25.  The bus will leave at 7:30.

 

On the lunch menu today is Ham, Cheese and Egg on an English Muffin, Chicken Patty or Turkey BLT Salad.

All 9th-12th graders are  invited to a YAMS Bean Bag Tournament on Tuesday, November 21 in the Old Gym starting at 6:00.  Sign up for teams of two on the Counseling Office door.  Cost is $2 per team.  Prizes will be awarded and concessions will be available.

The cross country banquet will be held on Sunday at 5:30 in the cafeteria.

A group of students from Canby High School would like to help our community members battling illness and disease with prayer.  This event will take place in the high school’s old gym at 7:50 am to 8:00 am today through Friday. Please join us if you are able.  The public is welcome!

A person can donate blood every 56 days.  Start your cycle today by contacting Nolan Harding or Brandon Bursack to donate on November 22nd.

The Spanish Booster Club & the Aybar family are raising money for the victims of the recent hurricanes in Puerto Rico.  We will be having a coin drive running through Nov. 17 in first hour classes. There will be special sabotage rules posted by the collection cans in each room. If we reach the goal of $1500 we will have a red, white, & blue dress up day & take a Human Puerto Rican Flag photo to send with the money. If every student contributes $5 total over the whole time we will reach our goal! MUCHAS GRACAIS

All students will be receiving a treat today during 1st period for American Education Week!

Junior high girls’ basketball practice will start today in the old gym.

FFAer's are reminded to please turn in your fruit orders to Mr. Dessonville today.

A representative from MN West – Granite Falls will be here today at 9:00.  Stop by the office for a pass if you are interested in meeting with her.

One Act tryouts will be held tonight at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria.

There will be a meeting for all wrestlers today after school in the weight room.

Approximately 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the US.  The number one reason willing donors are turned away is not enough iron in their blood.  Starting to eat iron rich foods today, such as chicken or hamburger with beans, green peas, carrots and fruit, will make sure that you can donate next week. There will be a junior high Knowledge Bowl meet here tonight at 6:00.  KB students who do not have practice should meet after school in the office to help set up rooms for the meet.

A representative from St. Mary’s University in Winona will be here today at 1:00.  A representative from the University of MN Crookston will be here today at 2:00.  Stop by the office for a pass if you are interested in meeting with either of them.

There will be a boys’ basketball meeting after school today in Mr. Traphagen’s room for boys in grades 9-12.

One Act tryouts will be held on Tuesday morning at 7:00 am in the old gym and again Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria.

There will be an FFA meeting in the Ag room Tuesday morning at 7:45 am.
