NOTE:  Some local scholarships use the Local Scholarship Application Form and some have their own individual forms.  Some of the individual forms are listed next to the scholarships below, some you may obtain from the counselors office and some you must obtain from the business/scholarship organization.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP FORM FOR THOSE HIGHLIGHTED IN ORANGE

BONNIE KRONEMAN SCHOLARSHIP  This scholarship in the amount of $500 is presented to a graduating senior from Canby High School, who will be entering a four-year program majoring in a medical or healthcare related program.   

CANBY CO-OP CREDIT UNION  This is a $500.00 scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend a post-secondary school after graduation. 

CANBY FARMERS GRAIN COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP  Canby Farmers Grain sponsors two $500.00 scholarship to seniors entering an agricultural program at a post-secondary institution.  Seniors may redeem this scholarship after they submit a transcript for the first full year of grades to Canby Farmers Grain.

LIONS SCHOLARSHIP   The Lions Club will award a $500 scholarship to a senior who plans to advance his/her education during the following school term.  The Lions Club Scholarship will be awarded based on past record, scholastic ability, and leadership ability.  

MASONIC LODGE #147 SCHOLARSHIP  The Masonic Lodge of Minnesota #147 is pleased to award a scholarship to a student pursuing higher education.  The Masons of Minnesota affirm their faith in education and public schools by presenting a scholarship based on work habits, attitude, ideas, sense of purpose, degree of self direction, leadership, loyalty, and citizenship.  $250.00 plus matching grant.

LYON-LINCOLN OPERATION ROUNDUP Lyon-Lincoln Electric Cooperative, Inc. will sponsor a $500.00 scholarship to a student graduating from Canby High School.  The scholarship will be awarded to a senior who is planning to attend a one, two, or four year college, university or vocational technical school. 

ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP  Two Rotary Scholarships of $500.00 will be awarded to seniors who plan to advance his/her education during the following school term.  They will be awarded to two seniors based on their past record, scholastic ability, and leadership ability.

SHRINERS SCHOLARSHIP  The local Shriners will award a scholarship to a senior who plans on attending a post-secondary institution.  This is a $500.00 scholarship.

YELLOW MEDICINE COUNTY SOYBEAN ASSN.  The Yellow Medicine County Soybean Association will award two $250.00 scholarships to seniors who plan to attend a post-secondary institution. 

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP  Knights of Columbus Council #1108 will award a $300 scholarship to a Catholic student who exemplifies the Knights’ principles of unity, charity and patriotism.

UNITED FCS, MADISON BRANCH  A $200.00 scholarship will be awarded to a senior attending a post-secondary school with preference given to students majoring in an ag-related field.

DANIEL AND MARY SNOBL SCHOLARSHIP This is a $200.00 scholarship is for a student planning to attend Southwest State University.  Basis for selection includes:  attitude, citizenship, community and school activities, participation, and future plans to complete an undergraduate degree at SMSU.
 
OUR SAVIOURS LUTHERAN (OSL) CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP  Our Saviors Luteran Church will award a $500 scholarship to a member of OSL. 
MATTHEW PARISH MEMORIAL  One $500 scholarship in memory of Matthew Parish.
 
DUANE SCHALEK WRESTLING SCHOLARSHIP A $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to a wrestler in memory of Duane Schalek who was the first wrestler from CHS to compete in the MN State High School Tournament and lifelong CHS wrestling supporter.

THE FOLLOWING SCHOLARSHIPS REQUIRE THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION
The applications for these scholarships may be accessed in the High School Counselors Office
or by clicking on (Application Form) next to the scholarship name.
 These Scholarship Applications are due on the same date as the Blue and Gold Scholarship Applications.
 
BENJAMIN THOVSON MEMORIAL ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP    (Application Form) Two $500 to a male and female senior involved in athletics.    

MARION AND JOYCE SCHRUNK AGRI-BUSINESS/VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP (Application Form)  Two $500.00  - For Seniors pursuing a career in agri-business, general business or a vocational business field.

DON LEPPKE MEMORIAL (Application Form) $500 – This scholarship is in memory of Don Leppke.  Don taught at Canby High School from 1966 until his death in 1992.

FARMERS' CO-OP ASSOCIATION  (Application Form) $500 awarded to a graduating senior entering an agricultural program or pursuing cooperative education.
 
ITC  TELECOM/DEAN E. ANDERSON SCHOLARSHIP  (Application Form) $600 - ITC telephone service area.  March 16th  deadline.  Applications in the Counseling Office.  Return to the High School office.
 
MIDWEST CATTLEMEN’S ASSOCIATION  (Application Form)  Two $250 scholarships awarded to seniors entering an agricultural major.  Senior families must have a long standing affiliation to the Midwest Cattlemen’s Association.

SENIOR LETTERPERSON CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS   (Application Form) Amount and Number Vary.  For students that have been actively involved at Canby High School and participating in the Letterpersons club.
 
GARY AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP  (Application Form) $300 awarded to a graduating senior.

DAVE HENTGES FAMILY AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP (Application Form) $250 awarded to a graduating senior who has shown an interest in aviation, participates in the community, and will be attending a 2 or 4 year college for a degree in an aviation related field.


THE FOLLOWING SCHOLARSHIPS REQUIRE THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION
The applications for these scholarships are either accessed at the institution giving out the scholarship or some via our Counseling office.  
 
L. A. AMUNDSON SCHOLARSHIPS, INC.--FIRST SECURITY BANK, CANBY Amounts vary --  Parents must have their primary banking relationship with First Security Bank-Canby.  Application at First Security Bank-Canby.

SANFORD HEALTH NETWORK HEALTH CAREER SCHOLARSHIP  - Scholarships for those planning to pursue a degree in health care.  Apply at Sanford.

ERWIN NEUHARTH/MN WEST SCHOLARSHIP - $500 – must attend Minnesota West.   Apply at MN West with their other scholarships available after March 1st.

MARBLE LUTHERAN CHURCH/MN WEST
 – $1000 scholarship awarded to a student attending MN West, Canby who is from the Marble Lutheran Church area.

HOSECK FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP/SDSU -  $1000award and may be renewable if recipients maintain the necessaryrequirements.  Students must fill out the standard scholarshipapplication for SDSU and write Hoseck Family Qualifier next to your name on the application.

LINCOLN LYON SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION – Awarded to a senior whose family farms in Lincoln County and are involved in the Corn & Soybean Growers Association.  Apply with them.

SENIOR FFA – Applications available from Mr. Dessonville.

CATHOLIC AID ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP Amount varies - Applications are available on-line at www.catholicunitedfinancial.org or in the High School Office.  You must have been a member for at least 2 years to apply.  Scholarships are due February 15th.

SMSU COLLEGE NOW – $1000 to any student that has participated in the College Now program and plans on attending SMSU.
