Band Policies
Respect others and yourself. The classroom is a place where we come together to accomplish a common goal.
That goal is to become better musicians and perform for the community through pep band and concerts.
But above all we are here to have fun so if we are not respecting each other then we are all not having fun.
This grade will be based upon your daily participation in class.
Pep Band 25 points per event
Concerts 200 points per event
Solo and Ensemble Contest 150 points
All students are required to attend all senior high concerts and pep bands; only extreme emergencies will be the exception for and absence. If a concert is missed they will receive a failing grade for that concert. If you are participating in that event then you will receive no grade deduction. Students are also required to participate in Solo & Ensemble and Large Group contest in the spring.
7th and 8th Grading Policy
100 Points per Lesson
Lesson grades are based upon the student’s performance of the assigned lesson it is their responsibility to come prepared for their lessons.
This grade will be based upon your daily participation in class.
All students are required to attend all junior high concerts; only extreme emergencies will be the exception for and absence. If a concert is missed they will receive a failing grade for that concert.
5th and 6th Grade Band Grading Policy
Lesson grades will be broken down as follows:
Practice time 50 points (100 minutes a week)
Musicality 50 points (Playing the right notes and rhythms)
This grade will be based upon your daily participation in class.
